Timeline module

Editing an existing timeline is a very simple and easy task. It does not require any specific skills beyond basic computer literacy.

  1. Log in to google spreadsheets with the credentials provided in syllabus/toledo.
  2. Adding new information is a very straight forward process. You can orient either on the previous entries, or you can watch this tutorial (relevant between 0:38 and 1:25) or read this tutorial. In essence, you can simply copy-place all the information in the cells of a row, where one row refers to one single entry.
  3. Very important: DO NOT DELETE any material which you did not add, entire rows or columns. This destroys the data structure and results in an error message.
  4. Once you finished entering new material or editing, you can go on the “frontend” (visitor side of the website) to check the results.
  5. If you are happy with the results, you can simply log out from google sheets (it saves your entries automatically).

Congratulation, you succcesfully managed to add information to the timeline!
